With the launch of sbiINTOUCH on 1st July 2014, State Bank of India was the first Bank in India to introduce the concept of “Digital Banking“. State of the art technology like Debit Card Printing Kiosks, Interactive Smart Tables, Interactive Digital Screens, Remote Experts through video call etc were introduced to providing a completely different experience through online self-service mode.
The key feature of these branches is that you can open your savings bank account Opening Kiosk (AOK)within 15 minutes. Besides that, you can have access to a vast array of Banking related activities and products.
To continue with the digital journey, branches are being opened under the sub-brand “sbiINTOUCH“.
Q1. What is sbiINTOUCH?
“sbiINTOUCH” are smaller versions of sbiINTOUCH Premium branches. They will continue to provide the customer a complete digital banking experience with a fewer number of gadgets as compared to sbiINTOUCH.
These branches are more like upmarket retail stores and are located at high street locations like malls and commercial complexes.
These stores are primarily meant for customer acquisition and some basic services like cash withdrawal and other account services and loan inquiries. The key thing that these branches offer is instant savings bank account opening and personalized debit card in 15-20 min – a first of its kind in Asia.
It is basically designed to attract the young tech-savvy generation into SBI.
People do complaint about queue in SBI branches which is seen as the biggest deterrent for attracting the younger generation who are used to getting everything on the go.
Even though these branches are literally ‘queue less’, still people are approaching traditional branches, waiting in queues rather than make use of these(Mind you now these INTOUCH branches have been opened many of the tier 2 cities also).
These INTOUCH branches provide personalized ATM cards immediately after opening account which is not the case in traditional branches.
These branches have state of the art facilities and provide smart table with video conferencing facilities providing platforms for expert financial advice.

Q3. What are the timings of sbiINTOUCH Branches?
The Branch timings for these Branches are same as existing regular Branches. The inner section of the branch having the workstations, AOK and Servers will be closed after business hours. However, the outer section having the ATM, Cash Deposit Machine (CDM), Swayam (Passbook Printer) etc.is open for 24*7 access.
